From soft to firm: what to expect
Compressed foam doesn't bounce back all at once — it rebuilds its structure in stages. Here's the honest, hour-by-hour version.
Hour 0 — Fresh out of the box
Hour 0 — Fresh out of the box
Unrolled and breathing for the first time. Your sofa will look a little flat and feel soft, almost too soft — the foam hasn't pulled its air back in yet, so it's missing the support it was built with. Some wrinkles in the fabric are normal too. Everything you're feeling right now is temporary.
Hour 24 — Taking shape
Hour 24 — Taking shape
The foam has recovered most of its height and the silhouette looks like the sofa you ordered. The seat is firming up but still sinks more than its final feel. You can absolutely use it — sitting on it actually helps.
Hour 48 — Almost there
Hour 48 — Almost there
Roughly 90% expanded. The cushions have their full volume, the seat is gaining real support, and fabric wrinkles are mostly gone. If you've been giving it side-eye, this is the day it wins you back.
Hour 72 — Full support mode
Hour 72 — Full support mode
Fully expanded, fully firmed up. This is the seat comfort we designed — the plush landing (Pearl), the deep lounge (Domino), or the structured back support (Puffy) you were promised. Welcome to the good part.
Want to help it along? Here's what actually works
Unbox it fully, right away
Get all the packaging and plastic off as soon as the box is open. The sooner the foam is free and exposed to air, the sooner it starts rebuilding its shape.
Sit on it
Seriously. Sitting, kneading, and gently pressing the cushions helps the foam cells pull in air faster. Movie night is officially productive.
Fluff and flip
Give the cushions a good fluff a couple of times a day and rotate them if you can. It evens out the expansion and smooths the fabric.
Let it breathe
Don't put covers, blankets, or heavy items on it for the first day. Good airflow is your sofa's best friend while it expands and regains its shape.
